Why hello there!

I thought I would update this blog with a quick review of the following items:

From Left to Right:

1. Lancôme Visionnaire  Advanced Skin Corrector (Wrinkles, Pores, Evenness) – 30 mL
2. Lancôme Blanc Expert Ultimate Whitening Anti-Spot, Anti Dark Circles Eye Serum – 5 mL sample
3. Lancôme GÉNIFIQUE Youth Activating Serum – 7 mL sample
4. DiorSnow UV Shield White Reveal Moisturizing UV Protection – Translucent SPF 50 – Pa+++ – 10 mL sample

I kind of got the order wrong, so for the following photos the order is (1, 3, 2, 4)
Here is what they look like straight from the bottle:

And here they are when smudged out:

Starting with the Lancôme Visionnaire  Advanced Skin Corrector (Wrinkles, Pores, Evenness) – 30 mL (full size) Purchased for $80 from an authorised online seller.

This product claims to (reduce)

On the surface, wrinkles* and pores* are visibly corrected, imperfections like signs of UV damage and acne marks appear diminished.

AND

In 4 weeks, wrinkles*, pores* and unevenness are visibly corrected.

The Lancôme Visionnaire is a serum I apply after the Lancôme GÉNIFIQUE Youth Activating SerumI have been using this product for the past 3 months and I absolutely adore this!
I personally do not have noticeable wrinkles, so I cannot say if there is a visible effect of that aspect but I have definitely noticed the decrease in pore sizes but more so the evenness in skin tone. My pores are smaller after applying this but I am not completely convinced that it is the Visionnaire serum itself minimising my pores. I feel as though a lot of serums/ products will have an immediate impact on pore sizes but I don’t notice the long term effects – maybe I should be examining it more closely!

The major change I have noticed is the even skin tone. My skin is particularly dry on my cheeks and prior to using the Lancôme Visionnaire, the dryness made my skin noticeably bumping, (even after exfoliation and moisturizing!) and so when I applied BB cream or anything to my face, it made the bumpiness even more prominent. I avoided powders and just about everything for the longest time and the only thing I did apply on my skin for some coverage of imperfections was Missha’s Watery BB Cream. But after using this, there is a definitely improvement of the skin which sets up a great canvas for application of make up.

The serum is not too thick, but I like to – when just applying the Visionnaire without the youth activating serum –  damp my face with a wet towel before applying this so that the small amount of serum that I pump out can cover my entire face. It feels very light weight when applied in this manner and there is almost an immediate difference in the softness of your skin! The packaging is also quite nice – but deceptive – it looks far larger than 30 mL as do most high end product packaging!
I originally had the 7 mL sample (which lasted me for quite a while) then decided to purchase the item in the full size. I highly recommend it for people who are also concerned with their uneven skin tone. It is a bit on the pricey side so I recommend getting a sample from the Lancôme counter or purchasing the travel sizes from eBay or elsewhere and trying it out before purchasing a full size bottle.

Onto the  Lancôme Blanc Expert Ultimate Whitening Anti-Spot, Anti Dark Circles Eye Serum – 5 mL sample from the Lancôme counter when I asked them about something that could help with my dark eye circles. Of course, the Genifique line has also come out with the Lancôme GÉNIFIQUE EYE LIGHT-PEARL Eye Illuminating Youth Activating Concentrate which I also did purchase but I will review that in a separate post. (I will link it when I get around to doing it.)

This serum has a pearly yellow tinge when directly out of the tube. A little goes a long way so be careful not to squirt out too much like I did when I first tried it. It smooths out quite easily however it takes a while to absorb so you have to massage it in gently (with your ring finger). If it gets in your eye it’s not a big issue, there is not a strong stinging sensation but you’ll know that it’s in your eye (yes, I would know). The consistency is thicker than the Lancôme Visionnaire serum and after application it feels a bit heavy but the feeling goes away quickly.

Because this was only a sample size, I only used it for approximately 2 weeks and did not notice a difference in my dark circles. It might be one of those things where there are long term effects, but I’m a bit more impatient and would like to see some effects sooner. This product did not work for me but it might for you so try it out. Also, if someone is using this product and finds that it does work for them I would love to hear from you!

This is what the full sized bottle looks like:

—————————————————————————————————————————————-

Lancôme GÉNIFIQUE Youth Activating Serum – 7 mL sample from my mother’s gift packs she received from spending a certain amount at the Lancôme counter. (Don’t worry – she has a larger sample vial with an actual dropper like the full sized one (pictured below – taken directly from the Lancôme website.))

The consistency of this serum is a bit different to most serums. It is much more watery as you can see from the swatches. It is very light weight and application is quite smooth – but I wouldn’t say that it glides like butter. My friend also tried this and really disliked the consistency whereas I myself do not mind it.

Lancôme claims that

‘visibly younger skin in just 7 days.
Skin looks as if lit from within – breathtaking radiant.
Its youthful quality returns: cushiony soft and velvety to the touch.
Drop by drop, skin is vibrant with youth, its tone becomes astonishingly even, its texture dramatically refined.

The Genifique range is also targeted towards young adults such as myself. I have read countless blogs of people recommending this product. I honestly don’t know if product makes a noticeable difference on my skin as it already is ‘youthful’ in appearance. (People who swear by this product – please don’t bash me.) I do like using this product in conjunction with the Lancôme Visionnaire because it feels quite nice after it is applied. I may consider purchasing a full sized bottle of this. Unfortunately there’s not much I can say about this product but it is easy seeking other people’s opinions on this product because it’s been around for a while.

Last but in no means least, the DiorSnow UV Shield White Reveal Moisturizing UV Protection – Translucent SPF 50 – Pa+++ – 10 mL sample.

I got a sample of this after watching one of Jen FRMHEADTOTOE’s haul videos.
The consistency of the moisturizer is pretty thin but can feel heavy if you over apply it. It leaves behind a very thin yet noticeable white veil (not oily) (to me), one similar to that of which you get when applying sun milk (the liquid sunscreens). There is a minor scent that is typical of high end products. It has SPF 50 UV protection in it making it a nice alternative to wearing two separate layers of sunscreen and moisturizer.

I actually like this product but I feel that it is not moisturizing enough. I don’t wear makeup on a regular basis  – that is unless I’m meeting up with friends or going out – (the exception being eyeliner) I will only apply this and go out with my bare face. It is at those times that I feel that my face gets a bit dry. Since then I apply a layer of emulsion and essence before applying this to help the dryness issue. Sounds pretty ridiculous that a moisturizer isn’t moisturizing enough right? But it does a nice job of giving an even finish to the skin so I can apply BB cream on this and it doesn’t make my face feel as though it is wearing too many layers.

This is what the full sized 30 mL tubes look like:
